A delicate relationship…

It’s been at least two years now that this man changed everything I thought to know about addiction.

Not only about his addiction in particular but even more about addictions in general.

Mine, yours, ours.

This strange and often hideous craving for something more, a different perception of reality, a different overall physical or psychological mood, a craving for escape, for change, is what lies hidden in all of us.

Yet the world with all its ups and downs nourishes this craving and often disguises it as something “normal”, something you earned or even deserve, eventually allowing it to crawl to the surface while still hiding in your subconscious trying to find all the right explanations and excuses for you.

Yes it is very easy and so convenient to give into these feelings luring you with the prospect of a short term peace of mind.

But the deal you agree on is insidious and provides you with nothing more than artificial satisfaction and hope of the most dangerous kind.

Eventually we all fight our own demons everyday till the end of our days. Some of us with more, the others with less success.
