Brainslag

by Julian Schmidli

I like the german word «Entschlacken». Schlack is the kind of sticky slag you’d find, if you melted an entire building: an impure mixture of iron, copper, glass and the likes. It is the state I sometimes feel like after a really busy week. Schlacky.
Saturdays, for that matter, are for «Entschlacken»: Detoxing from a noisy week. Sleeping. Drinking coffee with my friends. Talking about the real stuff. Reading books (today: James Salter – All that is). Sealing it all with Gin and Tonic.
