I have to sleep. The bus takes us tomorrow morning to Montrose. Did I write that before? More from New York. But one image now. The woman on the left is an airforce pilot. She trained the squad which killed Bin Laden. I saw photos on her iphone with 4star generals. She had Prada boots. The other girl is the actress Agata Trzebuchowska from the Polish film “Ida”, who doesn’t want to be an actress. She studies philosophy and is interested in post-modernism. The man on the left is my friend Colin MacCabe. He hates post-modernism.

The Jet Blue Airlines flight from Montrose had some problems taking off so we were more than an hour late. At the secuity check we had to take our shoes off and Don DeLillo said to me on the other side: “Don’t forget your last shoe.”

Im in this old cheap and squalid hotel in this really great building on W47th street. I love it. No view but you can open the window. That’s 2013 luxury––

Afternoon rain in Telluride:

Telluride was great, what a relaxed place. So friendly, so nice and so expensive.

The first night at the welcome dinner I gave my chair at the table first to Don DeLillo and his wife, then to Salman Rushdie and his girlfriend. Francis FordCoppola and Bruce Dern were sitting opposite, the Coen Brothers behind Bruce Dern.
