Gumboots

For the first time in my life I entered a one-euro-shop. Although there has always been a certain fascination, I have never dared to enter. Doing a first step is falling on the other side, I imagined. Into the world of the Spießer, (the English translation is bourgeois which is only half true––the other half would be prolet or philistine.)

Anyhow, today I felt ready, I felt strong enough. It was an instant addiction. I wanted to buy everything. Beautiful colorful things you might need. I brought myself to reason and managed to leave the store with a single purchase: Gumboots. Not just any gumboots, beautiful ones with a leopard print. Very useful.
