Hell’s Bell

by Christopher Roth

This is the sound of the bell in a prefab high-rise in the East:

From the time when Germany was still divided. The bells in the West might have had a similar nasty tone. In these times Siemens (and the colour Siemens Beige) ruled the nation. Then came Telecom’s magenta and with it a new sound. After that? The friendly world of Apple.
So this bell is not automatically Gestapo (they always knock and shout in movies) or Stasi (they come when you are not there), this bell wants to be heard. Like church bells or muezzins. Listen to it again.

The fuse box in the same flat:

The modern unification of both: iPin.
