Iggy theory

Walk in Mitte, part 2. Iggy everywhere. On books, on cups and plates, on posters. It is like Iggy Pop is a saint to Berlin and he might replace the Berlin bear one day. I saw Iggy five times today on my way to Spirit Yoga, more often then the bear with the little crown, the typical Berlin bear. My friend Kristin was teaching a great yoga class, I was breathing, going up and down in down dog, relaxing, but I kept  thinking of Iggy, when I left. Why do we like his face so much? What does it say? He looked really happy, when he lived in Berlin, his aura was the one of a child, he was careless, making all kinds of stupid fun with his mate David Bowie. I think Berlin did this to him. And then, after a while, when he had enough of that, he left again. Berlin did not challenge him, it didn’t want anything from him. So he had to leave, like everyone else has to leave who likes to be challenged, to be pressured to find something new, eventually not only pleasant stuff. Iggy never talked a lot about his time in Berlin. Once I interviewed him with another journalist. Iggy wore jeans and a jeans jacket and was sitting on a huge Louis Quinze sofa. The other  journalist asked Iggy something very complicated about the wall. Iggy shook his head, his beautiful, long hair was shining in the sun. He didn’t want to speak about the wall, so I asked him, how his hair is so shiny. “Vitamin B!” said Iggy and he smiled at us like a 3 year old. Was he talking about Vitamin Berlin?
