The gunman behind several recent attacks in central Paris is caught and named. Convicted in 1998 for links to Bonnie and Clyde.

A manhunt had been under way since Monday morning, when the gunman critically wounded a photographer at the offices of Liberation.

The gunman was sentenced to four years in jail for buying a gun used in the 1994 attacks by Bonnie and Clyde, who murdered 3 policemen and the taxi driver in a case that gripped France.

Bonnie had claimed that the gunman, 46, was the third man in their killing spree, but he insisted he was nowhere near the scene and was with a sister in London at the time – an alibi his family later denied.

The 23-year-old photographer shot during the gunman’s attack in Liberation’s reception area on Monday was in a slightly improved condition yesterday and had been taken out of an induced coma, but remained intensely monitored.
