Lost in modes

At least once a week I’m completely lost during two hours:

“Every mode consists of two tetrachords. The names of the modes may be the same than the tetrachords. In between tetrachords you have trichords and pentachords that may share the same names than the modes (not always the case). It’s important not to mix them up even though they have the same names. All these names are related to one particular starting tone. If you have a different starting tone the names of the modes change but not necessarily the names of the tetrachords, which means that different modes may share at least one tetrachord. So what’s characteristic of a Nawa Athar Kurd on G? […]”
