MoL went to the Cohen Bros’ film. Less than meets the eye; more than meets the eye. Nice travelling shots. Good mid-century sofas. Atmospheric narrow corridors. Folksy Aran knits. A laudable but perhaps unintentional message: older people more interesting. MoL says no problem with that. A running Welsh gag (Dylan. Geddit?) and, oh, it’s about the folk music scene in Greenwich Village the day before the Bobster blew them all away. Like a TV movie mostly. Quite boring slash interesting. No mobile phones. People talking to each other (help!). Good rotund fat man jazz junkie back-of-the-car performance from John Goodman, not normally an Act-Or to MoL’s taste. Not as good as supper afterwards: octopus and saffron potatoes; fried chick peas, squash and tahini.
