MoL says everyone come to London and check out http://www.testcentre.org.uk
The Test Centre | 24th Oct – 24th Nov
Test Centre will team up with its roster of writers, recording artists and associates to present a month of events, a rolling exhibition, and a pop-up shop. The Test Centre, at F in Stoke Newington, London, will consist of a shop and exhibition space separately curated by Iain Sinclair, Purge, Stewart Home and Chris Petit who will display the Museum of Loneliness’s projects House of Memory and Fragments of the Lost Library. The developing display of film, art, and sound will accompany a new and secondhand book and record shop, also containing specially-produced editions and ephemera, including collectible and rarely available publications. Works by all of the curators and performers will be available, and each week new stock will be added.
Chris Petit and Mordant Music Installation | Saturday 2 November
Continuing the collaboration which led to the recent LP Museum of Loneliness, in this one-off event never seen footage from Chris Petit’s film What She Did on Her Holidays will be projected with a specially-commissioned soundtrack remix of Petit’s Flying Down to Rio by Mordant Music.
The Museum of Loneliness film night | Sunday 3 November
Notoriously difficult to find, Chris Petit’s film Chinese Boxes (1984) has at last been located for a unique screening. Presented as part of Petit’s Museum of Loneliness project, it will be shown alongside Petit’s equally unseen Dead TV (1999). The films will be introduced by Petit, who will be present for a Q&A session after the screening.
