If you are German and very rich, in the top ten of the richest Germans, you get these special photographs made. A little out of focus, something in the foreground.
Coat, briefcase, open doors and: An on-the-run-feel to it.
This is Karl Albrecht.
The 93-year-old founder of Aldi Süd (South) and his family own 17.8 billion Euros––he heads the list of the richest Germans.
Theo Albrecht Jr. and his family’s fortune is about 16 billion Euros. 2nd place on the list of German’s super rich. Theo Jr. is the son of Aldi Nord’s (North) late founder Theo Albrecht.
Theo Jr.’s brother Berthold died last year with only 58.
Aldi Süd and Nord are discounter supermarkets, divided between the families and between southern and northern Germany. Their competitor is Lidl.
The Lidl-founder Dieter Schwarz has increased his assets over the previous year by one billion Euros––now he owns around 13 billion Euros. He gets closer to the leading Albrecht families. Ranking 3rd.
Only two photos of Dieter Schwarz have been published: one is old and in black and white, the other is without coat or briefcase. But still out of focus.
