The beauty of simplicity…

Instead of sharing this picture of this woman cutting grass for her livestock I initially wanted to share another impression with you which struck me while spending time in a remote village in rural Uttar Pradesh.

The sun had already set and as I was leaving the house of an overwhelmingly friendly villager I looked at the clear night sky and was fascinated by what is a very rare sight when you are used to the Delhi sky. Stars were sparkling everywhere and one could even see slight traces of the milky way.

But as my eyes wandered I discovered something that left my breathless.

Almost all the crowns of the trees around me sparkled as they themselves would be small galaxies.

I first could not believe my eyes until I understood what I actually saw.

Hundreds and hundreds of fireflies were putting on a show of epic scale as I never witnessed it before on my life.

For a glimpse I was a little sad not being able to capture that moment with my fancy mobile so that I could have shared it with you.

Luckily this moment didn’t last long and I just felt blessed not only being able to witness the beauty of simplicity but even more observing it without the pressure of focusing through a viewfinder or LCD screen.
