Well, you should see this film. I recommend it because I wrote it! I wrote it with my friend Ludovica and with my other friend Alessandro. We write often together, we ironically call ourselves the Lemures, as if we were a band. The Double Hour is the first released out of a script I wrote, and the first for the three of us together too. It was Giuseppe Capotondi’s debut film but you won’t feel it as a first film: it’s classic! At least, this is how I feel about it. I am very proud of this film. It’s a thriller, a mystery, a noir… and a love story. It was in Venice Film Festival official competition in 2009, where Xenya Rappaport won the prize as the best actress. It was shown also in Toronto Film Festival and London film festival and many others places. It’s been distributed in many countries. In the US it came out in 2011 where it was the fifth best box office among foreign film. We recently sold the script for the US remake version and we’re keeping the finger crossed hoping that everything goes well and they actually shoot it. The Hour will be really Double, then, I guess.
