The Europeanization of Kardashian (or the return of the sophistication babe)

First picture: Kim Kardashian a couple of days ago in Paris, styled by Euro-Queen-Carine Roitfeld. Second picture: Kim Kardashian years ago. This is how we know Kardashian. She represents the Beverly Hills/Rodeo-Drive Face: smiling to show your über-white teeth, heavy eye make up, flesh coloured lips, über-straight hair (mostly combined with tight dress, nude coloured peep toes) Kim Kardashian created that Bimbo-Look for America. Girls in Vegas are still picking it up, there is a whole Kardashian army, the lobby of Caesars Palace or Palms is bursting with them and the Kardashian-Look even replaced the once so popular Paris Hilton look. But this is all gone. Kim Kardashian has become “Europe”, she has become “taste”. No heavy eyeliner, lips that don’t look like a shaved organ, dresses by Parisian designers du jour, facial expression: existentialism babe. This is a new time. Years ago, you better try to look as american as possible, if you wanted to make it really big. Now, you better get that “Euro-Look” and forget about the saccharine smile. In fact, you better don’t smile at all. You better look like you just read the new novel of so-and-so and you are still thinking about it while entering the Roitfeld party. Kim Kardashian is on the way to conquer a whole new market with her look. She will enter different magazines. She will suddenly appear at Nobel Price Dinners and discuss Slavoj Zizek over dessert. Just imagine.
