Why did it take so long to put Jay-Z on the cover of VANITY FAIR? Seriously, Jay Z has the same meaning as Frank Sinatra or Jackson Pollock. Listening to “Empire State of Mind” gives me more goosebumps than any pair of heels or Lanvin dresses. More than hotel rooms I would like to stay in. The bass in that track makes me cry. It’s tragic, it’s CONTEMPORARY. Jay-Z is the most relevant poet these days. Ok, he should reconsider album titles like “Magna Carta-Holy Grail”. A bit “ridicule”, but who cares. There is not anybody out there right now, who explains America better than Jay Z. Jay Z says go for the BIG, make it BIG, don’t worry, that’s OK.
No guilt involved, but tons of sacrifices, so don’t complain and don’t explain.
Jay-Z knows about economy. The economy. Jay-Z was a drug dealer, as he tells “Vanity Fair”:
“To be in a drug deal you need to know what you can spend, what you need to re-up.”  He left drug dealing. It could end in death. He needed an exit strategy.
Everyone in America needs an exit strategy: porn stars, soldiers, veterans, kids.
Jay Z is this country, the USA and everything that is good about it. Wear a tux, whenever you feel like it. Some people will think you are pathetic. But you create your own world and make them shut up. I love Jay Z.
