The Osmosis of Wisdom

You’re moving halfway around the globe, and you have 1 day to pack your whole life into 1 bag. How d’you do it? Well, as simple as it may sound – it isn’t. Never mind the clothes, the toiletries, and all those electronic chargers (one for each device, and there are many devices). It’s the books! They’re bulky, heavy, and there’s just no way of squishing them into those random vacancies provided by your amateur packing skills.

If only we could stop collecting books. If only e-books would make the cut.

A wise man once said to me: the wisdom of books is passed on via osmosis. Books are a physical medium: as they lie around on your bookshelf / your table / your desk, their wisdom seeps out of your life, and seeps into someone else’s.

e-books that live in e-space just don’t live up to it quite yet – let’s see what the next decade of tech innovation will bring…
