The rift was there, infront of our eyes. There was a sense of time, a sense of ending, a sense of urgency. Armen was very adamant about it. The new way of thinking, the new way of doing things, or doing business, of bringing people together, the new sense of community, of strangeness, of individuality that was not bound by what academia deemed worthy. Should you even work in the old framework? Should you try to change the system from within, like the poet said? Or should you create new structures, our own structures? Something you control. Something you own. Without that sense of ownership that drags you down. The rift was freedom, it was a cut through the contemporary, a leap of faith. I dare you. It was no longer an afternoon in the year 2013. It was a morning in the year 2014. It was time for us to seize the moment. And jump.
