The Urban Future of the Strange Reich (2)

by Jossi Reich

I looked from the 12th floor down on my beloved Tel-Aviv, which I do not see so often, because my suburban wife – God bless her, she is God, she is almighty – kidnapped me to the suburb. I saw all this simple four or five storey high, lower-middle-class buildings ANDĀ – prophet, that I am – saw the future: all kind of plants, vegetables and fish-ponds on all those white Tel-Avivian flat-roofs. Aquaponic, got it, Mister White? Speedily reproducing itself, happily-soon-to-be-slaughtered Tilapia fish shitting into the hydroponic water-circulation; fish shit, full of nitrate, which nourishes the baby-broccoli, the cucumber, the tomatoes, the salads and provides the urban people with urban food, bringing urban food to urban people. Rooftop farming throughout the whole city, organic and clean, no more dirty agriculture as we know it today, which is causing climate-warmth, poverty, illness and sadness. Got it??

My two Berlin-hero-Metropolitans were invited here into the city hall to lecture, to tell their story to the mostly female crowd of municipality stuff, bureaucracy organizers and policy makers. How to build an organization based on the collective thought and not the capitalistic dogma of accumulating capital; how to collect investor“s money, from human-minded investors, without promising a high yield, only 2 to 3 percent a year, a bit boring for capitalistic gangsters like me, who are horny on shares, that make at least 10 to 15 percent a year, BUT no hedge-fund-risk, no dirty business. Although I am not a Berliner, in this moment I was proud to be a Berliner.

To be continued tomorrow…
