Nate “Gold” Silver is hiring. And when the wizard of data (journalism) is hiring you should be listening. If you want to work for FiveThirtyEight, Silver’s company/blog, you have to be a kind of wunderkind, a techy journalist, a journalistic techy. FiveThirtyEight is looking for people with an outstanding combination of writing and statistical skills. It’s not enough to be good at one thing. The division of labour is over. I know people who are very good with data and I know people who are very good with narratives. I only know a very few people who are very good with both (and they are not in Zurich or in Berlin as far as I know, and they don’t know me, what makes them strangers). FiveThirtyEight (ESPN to be precise) must pay a hell of a salary to get them. Apply if you are one of those wizards.

** You probably got this already. I am not trying to spin any story around it. It is just as it is.
