This morning I sat down with a coffee thinking over the day and went through the list of things to be done. There were insurance policies to be understood, a beef with the landlord to be settled and one with the health insurance company, the tax declaration to be counterchecked, emails to be answered, badly written but supposedly interesting articles to be read, and a blog for 60pages to be delivered. Then I had a better idea. I went over to the Advent calendar, opened the window with a big 1 printed on it and took out the little chocolate moon.
Stars of gold and silver fell from the ceiling, outside the snow gushed around in big, heavy flakes, people with funny wooden caps were throwing snowballs at each other, I could hear them laughing, candles lit up around me, and a reindeer with a red nose and a bottle of Bourbon in his left hoove sat down next to me and introduced himself. “My name is Giovanni Giorgio, but everybody calls me Rudi.” He lifted the bottle and smiled. “Here’s the first of the day, fella. To old D.H. Lawrence!” He took a gulp, turned his head, bent his leg and moved it up and down. “Yaaah! Nick, nick, nick!”, he shouted. ”You mind if I put on some music?” Next thing I heard was Wham! blaring from the speakers.
Man, we had a blast.
