Sometimes I really don’t understand what politics is about, and why it keeps me so concerned, and what intrigues me and disturbs me about it. Where does is actually begin, and where does it end? We are still so centralized in our system and thinking, I think. I have this image of us, always looking up to someone who is in charge of something to do or not to do. Most of the people I’m talking to are not content about what’s happening, or actually not happening. These days in Germany most people I’m talking to are unhappy about the things, which are actually not happening. In Turkey, people are unhappy about the things, which are happening.
Just weird thoughts, sorry.
I turn on the ZDF Mediatek on my iPad, which is standing on the fridge while I’m preparing a Stulle, German Abendbrot, and I switch to zdf.kultur. Ha, and old one from 2004. Marylin Manson was performing at the Volksbühne with a Burlesque program, the beautiful Dita von Teese is there, too. They just got engaged, and she is showing her ring. Manson is so calm and relaxed, he is talking about his exhibition of water colour paintings, that hanging in the foyer. Really nice. There is a painting of the Reichstag burning, and a painting of Jesus, which he calls “Trismegistus“, named after the magician about whom the myth says, that he came up with Alchemy. And then Manson says something like: So many people are talking about politics as if it was our religion of these days. My only religion is art, because art is the only thing, which is creating something that you give to the world. Politics is only taking something out of the world.
That’s at least something to think about.
