Tworoomappartment

I went to dinner with a few of my favourite Berlin people. “Zweiraumwohnung” (Tworoomapartment) The amazing, redhead Inga Humpe, the mastermind Tommy Eckart (and of course band member Aram aka Malakoff Kowalski, the cool persian dude) Their new record is out and you should buy it and make them number one. There are tons of reasons why they are great, special, unique, important for Berlin and the universe. To Inga you can talk about the coming culture revolution that will reach us soon and a few seconds later discuss club nights you forgot about, but she did not. I met the two of them in the late nineties, we shared an apartment in Hamburg and had trouble with the two cats that the owners had left there. They threw themselves against the doors, when they could not get into our bedrooms, so nobody ever slept properly. I never met a woman like Inga before and I really realized that later on, when I interviewed her for big german paper in bed. I was excited! I always wanted to try that Paula Yates approach as an interview technique (Paula Yates had a show called “In bed with Paula”) and Inga seemed to be the right person. She understood why it made sense. In bed you talk about authentic stuff. No idle chit chat. We had an amazing interview and Inga said that if she would be reborn, she would like to come back as a “blonde cockroach”. I think I never heard anything funnier and wiser. Coming back to the music. Really. The are too modern for these times so, if you are clever, you’ll get “Achtung Fertig” and get ready for a new age and listen to what they have to say, you might dance and never stop.
