When Attitudes become Form

by Holger Friese

I just came back from Venice. One main thing I wanted to see was the Venice 2013 version of Szeeman’s 1969 exhibition. It was boring. Only the Fred Sandback was really good. And Sol LeWitt’s wall drawings.

I rather like this attitude:

P1140552b

It’s a piece by Kristin Albrecht – re-using a wall painting I did three weeks ago (yes without asking me if it’s OK to do so)

the exhibition also has a good title:

WE ARE HAPPY TO SHARE WHAT WE KNOW WITH YOU

on view till 17th of october at Kunsthalle am Hamburger Platz, Berlin

PS: The involvement of Rem Koolhaas and Thomas Demand in the venice version is a joke, isn’t it?

PS II: The “Fett” is much too yellow

PS III: The making of my wall piece is documented here (better switch off the sound)

PS IV: the comments under this article shows the perception of the viewer didn’t change since 1969
